Drawing: Concept Practice

I’ve decided to practice some concept by extending other people’s sets… lame, I know, but I think it could be pretty helpful when learning stuff. So, here it comes. This is Paul Chadeisson’s drawing, which is pretty freaking awesome, I love what’s going on here the detail, the depth and all, so i’ve added another layer of additional content.

Characters: Crabuculus

Here’s another new guy. Arms too long? Yes, that’s what everyone thinks,
until they find out that this creature uses the length of its arm as a leverage for shattering it’s prey’s skulls and sucking the brains out with the face tentacles.

Funny thing is even the pose does not help to really translate what I wanted to portray.
It almost has to be a composition of some sort, in a setting with more things around it to suggest the functionality of its parts.

This takes time… and probably another set of skills which I should probably try to develop.
